Maryland Intercounty Connector Roadway Lawsuit Settled between the State of Maryland and the Environmental Defense Fund

The state of Maryland has settled a suit against the Environment Defense Fund, a New York-based organization, regarding their dispute over the building of the Intercounty Connector Highway.  According to the terms of the suit, the Maryland State Highway Administration must place two million dollars into reducing and researching the presence of pollution from the project.  In return, the Environmental Defense Fund will withdraw their appeal of the federal court’s decision to allow the building of the Intercounty Connector Highway to continue.
